The purpose is simple: reduce study friction by giving you quick visual context (state maps, key geographic anchors, and official symbols) without interrupting your reading flow
How to Use This Visual Companion
Use this companion in one of the study modes below (or combine them).
Mode A — 10-Minute Daily Drill (Recommended)
Pick 2 states per day:

Look at the map and say the state name out loud.

Recall the capital city.
-
Name 2 major cities.
-
Name 1 major river associated with the region (if applicable).
Repeat for the second state. Done.
Mode B — Rapid Revision Before Practice Tests
Skim all 16 states in one sitting:

State name → capital → one memorable geographic anchor (river, neighboring states, or city cluster). This takes ~15–20 minutes and is ideal for last-week revision
Mode C — Exam-Question Mapping (High ROI)
When you encounter a question mentioning a place, region, or state context:

Jump to the relevant state section here,

Reinforce it with a 30-second visual recall loop (state → capital → major city/river)
Practical Tip
Do not try to “memorize the map.” Use the visuals as memory scaffolding: the map is the anchor, your recall is the goal
